The company Moskvich is negotiating with the electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus (EVM) about the supply of electric motors for Moskvich vehicles.
Recall that UAZ Profi cars are equipped with these engines, and the assembly shops are located next to Moskvich – in Technopolis Moscow.
“We are already negotiating with Moskvich about the possible delivery of our electric motors and power electronics for Moskvich,” Izvestia is quoted as saying by Ilya Rashkin, the company’s general manager.
This Russian engine is compact in size and can be installed on both light commercial vehicles and small city cars.
The engine has a power of 120 hp. and weighs only 50 kg (world record). It is powered by an 80 kWh battery, which lasts 300 km, whether it is freezing or not. – the power plant is supplemented by an economical autonomous heating system, which has become an excellent solution for Russian conditions.
Earlier, Moskvich’s head Dmitry Pronin said the company would develop its own car platform.
