Recall that the introduction of point changes to the rules was banned in 2021, but now the situation will “turn back” with apparent good purpose: without going through the bureaucracy with the new edition of the SDA, it will be possible to make long-awaited changes. Exactly what influence does the newly introduced mechanism have on the real picture of traffic?
Are the rules getting better? Who controls the number of changes? Will they cause confusion and is it realistic to remember them?

There are no definitive answers here as everything will depend on how the new features will be used. This is a double-edged sword. On the one hand there are real problems to be solved – the same way of individual mobility, some more “fine settings”. If you can’t make important changes quickly, this is probably bad – it’s hard to argue with. But on the other hand, those absurd bacchanalia that have taken place in recent years, when it was possible to adapt the traffic rules, did not lend itself to a rational explanation: whoever wants, makes.
It is clear that the circle of people is limited, but I am afraid that now every deputy will start PR about this: “Let’s change this.”
I, a person with huge driving experience, can’t remember all the changes that were made back then. And I’m not sure if I know of recent changes. Although they generally don’t affect anything: it’s enough to remember the story in a circular motion – this way, that way. I don’t know the roundabout rules in Germany, England or Japan. But I never had any questions there, because the signs, markings and possibly traffic lights give me a clear picture of how to get there.
We try to arrange everything with words, so that the person passing on the rights will remember these countless points for life, as well as just as many additions. This is impossible to remember! No sane, shall we say, American could learn all this, and there is no need to.
The rules need to be simplified, and we’re just making them more complicated. We have a lot of unnecessary definitions – just the concept of “parking” takes God knows how many lines. Why does a driver need to know what kind of parking spaces there are – ground, underground, municipal … It is important for me to know that if there is a sign I can leave my car here, and if paid parking is indicated then can i leave it for money. All!
It is probably positive that it will be possible to quickly implement changes in the traffic rules. But to prevent this from turning into self-promotion and endless experiments with the introduction and elimination of signs, new sections of traffic lights, and so on, there has to be some kind of restrictive mechanism. For example, to allow changes to the traffic rules a maximum of once a year and a maximum of three points. Or maybe just one.
