In the past three weeks, gasoline prices in some regions of Russia have increased by 1.5-2 rubles, said Dmitry Gusev, vice-chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Reliable Partner Association (an association of producers and sellers of energy resources). to Izvestia.
Since August, retail fuel prices in the Nizhny Novgorod region have increased by about 1.5-2 rubles per liter, while in the Saratov region, diesel and gasoline AI-92 and AI-95 have increased in price by 0.5 rubles, AI-100 – by about 1 ruble.
Prices have also changed in Crimea, mainly due to delays in the delivery of fuel by rail to consignees. Long-term shipments caused a slight shortage of fuel in the region, which led to an increase in sales prices at some gas stations for AI-100 gasoline – by 1 ruble per liter, for diesel – 50 kopecks per liter.
The Russian Fuel Union (RTS) also recorded an increase in diesel prices in the Eastern Siberia and Far East regions. The price increase is due to the fact that in June the cap on the budget allocated by the government to subsidize the transport of fuel by rail to these regions was lifted.
Why is fuel more expensive?
Experts note that until the beginning of August 2022, the price of fuel in the retail sector almost did not grow, as a number of countries refused oil products from the Russian Federation, and as a result, the domestic Russian market was overcrowded. But now the volume of Russian oil sales abroad has recovered to last year’s levels and the fuel surplus in the Russian market is gradually decreasing.
In addition, a number of factors influence the fuel costs in the autumn, these are: repair work at refineries, the switch to winter diesel fuel, according to the Ministry of Energy.
According to the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX), the price per ton of AI-92 gasoline on September 7 was about 44.5 thousand rubles, AI-95-49.5 thousand, diesel – 56.5 thousand. : in mid-March, the cost of AI-92 per ton was about 42.3 thousand rubles, AI-95-44.7 thousand, diesel – 48 thousand.
However, the Department of Energy assured that the gasoline price will remain at a stable level, as the damper mechanism allows you to keep the selling prices under control.
