The new generation of Geely Emgrand sedans appeared in the Republic of Belarus, where the Geely brand operates BelGee. Although we are talking about only three test instances, they will probably be used to identify the nuances of assembly and localization. Chinese Automobiles recalls that BelGee’s management planned to test an affordable sedan with manual transmission in the summer of 2021.
Apparently the process is still underway a year later. If the new Geely Emgrand gets on the BelGee conveyor belt, then the model has a great chance of landing in Russia: it is this company that supplies the Russian Federation with Tugella crossovers composed of kits, and especially Atlas Pro and Coolray , produced in a full cycle.
Only for Coolray is the fourth generation Emgrand closely related: the machines are built on the same BMA platform. According to the source, the test cars have a 109-head suction engine and a manual gearbox. Dimensions – 4638 x 1820 x 1460 mm with a wheelbase of 2650 mm. She remained unchanged, while the length increased by 7 mm, and the width – immediately by 31 mm.
Both the first and new Emgrand are much closer in size to cars like the Toyota Corolla, but the model will obviously share the price niche with the much more budgetary Vesta.
In terms of reputation, however, Lada looks much more impressive than the predecessor of the model with which Geely is targeting the Russian market again.
