Spare parts, such as cars, are becoming more expensive, but this is not even the biggest risk in the near future: many experts are talking about an imminent serious shortage of a huge number of positions.
Will parallel imports save the Russian car market? Will he make money? Sergei Zinoviev in the new issue of “Behind the Wheel” tells how the spare parts situation will develop in the near future.
He also warns: The downside of parallel imports is that the risk of counterfeiting, a poor-quality “non-original” packaged in hard-to-distinguish branded packaging, is increased. It is very likely that you will come across such a product when purchasing bulk consumables – filters, drive belts, oils, suspension elements, brake pads and discs.
As early as the fall, many positions could be in total shortfall – experts say warehouses will simply run out of old stocks by then
By the way, many of these items already fall into the scarce category, which means they will be in high demand. Judge for yourself: at the end of spring, the agency Gruzdev Analysis questioned network service stations about the components, the shortage of which is most acutely felt.
- Engine parts – 64% (so many stations were scarce)
- Motor oils – 47%
- Spark plugs – 44%
- Filters – 42%
- Electrical equipment – 40%
- Brake system – 38%
- Shock absorbers – 32%
- Drive Belts – 24%
- Suspension, steering – 20%
It is worth noting that the sample is incomplete – body parts and glass are not mentioned, which were also in short supply in the spring, especially for new and rare models. In general, however, the situation is clear. How will it develop under the sanctions?
And how can you protect yourself from a poor quality fake? We tell it on the pages of the September issue of “Behind the Wheel”. Now available!

- In Russia, its own production of the missing auto parts is also hastily set up – they plan to involve Lada Izhevsk in the process, and a factory has already opened in Moscow.
- “Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
The note was prepared on the basis of the article “The market for spare parts: shortage and prospects” by Sergei Zinoviev.
