When calculating the cost of car repairs under OSAGO, the prices of analogues of spare parts will be taken into account if the original part is not on the market. The new rules, which will come into force on September 11 this year, the changes in the methodology for determining repair costs have been registered by the Ministry of Justice, reported Bank of Russia.
“This approach will apply to all car brands, regardless of country of manufacture, in order to ensure a level playing field for all car owners,” the regulator said.
The Central Bank explained that data on its cost are not included in the guide for calculating payments, since there are no longer original spare parts. Therefore, difficulties may arise in paying for losses under OSAGO.
“The new approach will make it possible to calculate the payment taking into account the cost of analogues, while cutting out clearly low-quality spare parts,” said the Bank of Russia.
