An enterprise for the production of microcircuits for cars may appear on Russky Island in Vladivostok, the head of the Russian Far East Development Ministry Alexei Chekunkov told RIA Novosti.
We are talking about car chips of 60 nanometers each and there are already Russian investors interested in building a production facility in the Far East to produce such chips. In Russia there is a huge market for such products, the demand is hundreds of billions of rubles per year.
Alexey Chekunkov added that he met with a company that he would not name yet, but noted that serious players from Russia and abroad were already interested in the project.
Of course, production is possible taking into account the ASEZ (economic zone with preferential tax conditions) regimes and the possibility of receiving preferences.
At the same time, the official noted that large-scale government subsidies are needed for such projects and cited abroad as an example. For example, in Europe, China and America, the level of subsidization of new enterprises for the production of microcircuits reaches 50%. Such a thing does not yet exist in Russia, but it is clear that if it is necessary to achieve a breakthrough in the field of microchip production, the level of state subsidies must be comparable to what exists abroad.
