It seems that fitting tires happens every kilometer these days. But by the laws of meanness, if it’s your wheel that gives up the ghost, there’s no tire shop around. And if there is nowhere and no one to call, then it remains to save yourself.
That’s why a tire repair kit should just be in the trunk of every car. It’s cheap, doesn’t take up space, and it’s not difficult to use – just how, we’ve told you here.
Obviously, in case of an urgent need, you should buy the first set that comes across. But we still recommend that you buy something suitable in advance.
What are there?
The composition and execution of instruments are quite different.
There are two main types: we will conditionally call them “self-tapping screws” and “flagella”.
Flagella are a well-known attribute for a tire mechanic. But rubber screws are a relatively new approach to repair. The idea is tempting: we wrap some sort of rubber plug in the puncture site – and that’s generally all… No glue or special tools needed – I just packed it up, pumped it up and drove it off. They doubt, but let’s try.

SELF-TAPING SCREWS
| estimated price 350 No tools are included with this set. There is also no glue. When installing a self-tapping screw in the hole, the coating immediately began to peel off with rags from it. Therefore, it does not participate in sealing. Installation did not cause any problems, but the language did not change to call the repair reliable. In fact, such a “plug” is not much different from a self-tapping screw that is “caught” on the way. It may be possible to go to the nearest tire repair shop, but don’t count on extended use. Overall, we can’t recommend it. |

CONCLUSION
We recommend using only classic flagella for repairs. It is better to avoid rubber screws – they did not inspire confidence in us.
