In the coming years, the Lada Izhevsk plant, which has lost production of the Lada Vesta family (since 2023, the line will be produced in Tolyatti), may become an important site for the production of various automotive components. The terms and nomenclature are not yet clear, but the issue is being discussed at the level of the government of Udmurtia. This was stated by the head of the republic Alexander Brechalov.
AVTOVAZ has developed a roadmap for the development of the company. Main tasks: launch Lada e-Largus and production of components for Lada Vesta. We will meet regularly and review the roadmap implementation schedule. The instruction to the Minister of Industry of the Republic is to work out the issue of organizing the production of auto parts under the import replacement program at the site of the Lada-Izhevsk Industrial Park,” Alexander Brechalov wrote in Telegram.
It should be noted that on August 29, LADA-Izhevsk, as well as the main location of AVTOVAZ in Togliatti, returned to a 5-day work week after a long shutdown, and Brechalov met with the management and the union of the Izhevsk plant . The said roadmap is in fact a project development plan that indicates all goals and successive steps, as well as all implementers.
When deciding to transfer the production of Vesta to Tolyatti, the management of AVTOVAZ kept the production of components for this family, stamp production and plastic production in Izhevsk. In the near future, the Izhevsk division will have to master the assembly of Lada e-Largus electric vans.
