The annual JD Power Reliability Index survey is based on the number of calls to service from different brand owners. In 2022, the owners of Genesis, Hyundai and Kia complained the least about their cars.
Genesis cars have become the most reliable. They took first place in both the premium and general categories, earning 643 points (on a 1000-point scale). The Korean luxury brand overtook Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz.
Hyundai was in first place among mass-market cars (534 points), while Kia cars were in second place (495 points).
As JD Power discovered, the most problematic electronic systems that owners are not happy with are the fingerprint scanner and gesture control.
