Recently, photos of new Lada Granta cars with front bumper trim started to flicker on the web in an unconventional way. Instead of chrome-like coatings, metallic gray finishes first appeared on the machines and then glossy black. The manufacturer has not released any official comments on this subject.

Za Rulem, the most popular automotive publication in Russia, turned to the AVTOVAZ press service for clarification.
Currently, Lada Granta are supplied with gray or black mouldings. This is a factory solution. This does not affect the price of the car. In the future, both painted and chrome-plated parts will be used, depending on the configuration, an official AVTOVAZ representative told Za Rulem.
So the assumptions about decontenting – that is, replacing parts with cheaper analogues – turned out to be somewhat exaggerated in this case. On the front bumpers, Grants will be used and traditional chrome, and new – gray and black “X”.
