Chinese automaker BYD has completed development of a new crossover, the Corvette 07. Outwardly, the novelty will resemble the BYD Tang.
The car is 4.82 meters long, 1.92 meters wide and 1.75 meters high. The wheelbase is very large – 2.82 meters, which guarantees a spacious interior.
The car will be equipped with a hybrid power plant, writes the site “Chinese cars”. The basis will be a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with 139 hp.
In initial configurations, the hybrid powerplant will feature a single 197 horsepower electric motor on the front axle.
In the maximum Performance configuration, there will already be two electric motors – a 204 hp motor will be added to the rear axle. As a result, the total power of the hybrid power plant will be about 540 hp.
The crossover is already ready for production, which should begin in the coming months. Despite the power and manufacturability, the cost of the BYD Corvette 07 will be cheap. For example, in China, a version with 197 horsepower costs 250,000 yuan, which, translated into our money, is about 2.1 million rubles.
