The growth of the import of cars and container transport via Vladivostok is causing congestion in the port and traffic jams, writes VL.ru.
Car imports to Russia grew by 33% and the number of cars imported already exceeds 78,000. Not only used “Japanese women” are brought in, dealers of new Chinese and Korean cars have also established their import. In fact, this is now the only alternative for the representatives of European and American companies who have stopped working.
Hundreds of cars are brought in, then put on car transporters and sent to other cities. In addition, the flow of other traffic through the sea gates of Vladivostok has also increased. The cargoes previously delivered via the Baltic and Azov-Black Sea ports now travel through the Far East. All this causes congestion in the harbor and on the roads around it all the parking lots are full of cars.
Under the gate, car transporters are queuing up to enter the port area. From time to time, guards have to organize a reverse movement to release loaded trucks and let empty trucks in.
Not only do cars take up all the free space in the berths and parking spaces, traffic jams also arise in the ports of the Far East from ships queuing to unload.
Experts explain this by the fact that after large logistics companies left the Russian market, Asian companies entered the market with a fleet of smaller tonnage. As a result, the number of ships increased and traffic in the ports increased.
Once this boom started, the cost of transportation services rose by at least 11%. As winter approaches, an increase in port loading by dry coal ships is expected.
