After the decision to restore the Moskvich plant, the new director Dmitry Pronin became a media person. Obviously, before launching new cars, he must have information and analyze it like no other. And at the International Moscow Automobile Forum IMAF-2022, he said he expects the auto market to recover in 2024-2026.
According to the optimistic scenario, sales will fall 2 times in 2022 compared to 2021, after which recovery is expected by 2024-2026, writes TASS, referring to the presentation of the CEO.
Pronin also noted that the total capacity of Russian passenger car production enterprises exceeds 2 million cars per year, but today about 50% of them have ceased production.
It is necessary to locate the base of car components, this has become “a major challenge for restarting production at car sites”, he stressed.
Recall that in 2021, according to AEB statistics, 1,666,780 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold on the Russian market (+4.3% compared to 2020).
