The Geneva Motor Show 2023 is canceled anyway, this decision was taken by the organizers of the fair. This would be the first auto show since the forced break due to the coronavirus, but alas.

The date had already been set and the plan was to hold GIMS 2023 in two phases: the first from February 14 to 19, 2023 at Palexpo in Geneva, and the second – the world premiere – in November of the same year in Doha, Qatar.

This would be the first Geneva Motor Show since 2019. Recall that in 2020, 2021 and 2022 the exhibition of new products was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But now the auto show is once again not destined to take place “due to the lack of predictability due to the uncertainty in the global economy and the geopolitical situation, as well as the risks associated with the development of a pandemic.”

“We did our best to host GIMS 2023 in Geneva in February. The improved set-up of the event and the new project were very well received. But in the end, the risks outweighed the opportunities,” said Maurice Turettini, chairman of the Standing Committee of the International Motor Show in Geneva.

However, the first offshoot of the auto show is scheduled for November 2023 in Doha, Qatar, as planned. It is still too early to talk about the participants and the cost of entrance tickets, but soon the organizers, together with Qatar Tourism partners, will share the first details about the “world premiere” in Doha.

Here is such an unusual decision – the 2023 Geneva Motor Show will be held in Doha (Qatar) this time. The event in Qatar is planned to be held every two years in the future.
