1. Appearance of the vehicle:
For example, cars with tinted windows are stopped more often than others. If the light transmission windscreen and front side windows does not comply with GOST (light transmission is less than 70%), then according to Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation, the driver will be fined 500 rubles. The article only applies to the front and side windows. The rear windows can be tinted indefinitely.
Also, a dirty license plate will be a reason to stop. According to Part 1 of Article 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, a fine of 500 rubles may be imposed in this case.
Attractive to the traffic police inspector will be a tuned car or with additional lighting equipment. All changes to the vehicle design must be properly recorded.
How to go further? Keep your car clean and do not make any modifications not specified by the manufacturer to reduce the risk of being stopped by a traffic police inspector.
2. Driver behavior
If the driver is concerned at the sight of a traffic police officer, it affects the driving style: sharp unreasonable maneuvers (accelerating, rebuilding), not keeping a distance from the vehicle in front. All this attracts the inspector’s attention.
Suspicion of alcohol intoxication also gives the inspector a reason to stop the vehicle. Drunk drivers can be identified by the following signs:
- Driving at night with the headlights off. As a rule, drunk drivers forget to turn them on or intentionally turn them off so as not to attract attention.
- The driver is wearing sunglasses or chewing gum. In such ways, drivers try to hide the signs of drunkenness.
- Change in skin color. Much, of course, depends on the individual characteristics and state of health of each person. Still, the driver’s purple cheeks will be visible from afar.
- Driving at too high a speed. In a drunk driver, the instinct for self-preservation is dulled.
- Driving too slow. In order not to draw attention to themselves, drunk drivers sometimes try to drive slowly. They think it’s a neat ride. In fact they go very slowly from the side.
Suspected alcohol intoxication is also caused by an untidyly dressed driver, with week-old bristles and a tired look.
How to be? Nothing complicated. Drive only in a sober state, maintain a neat appearance and do not violate any traffic rules.
