In Moscow, police neutralized an organized criminal group that was staging a motor vehicle accident. They broke motorcycles and declared to insurance companies about the alleged damage received and received compensation from 400 thousand to 1.2 million rubles.
Fraudsters also forged powers of attorney, which they drafted on behalf of notaries from other states, and technical experts, who were also part of the criminal group, argued non-existent damages in the acts to increase the amount of payments. The attackers worked on this scheme for two years, causing damage to insurance companies in the amount of more than 60 million rubles.
At the moment, the police have arrested 11 members of the gang, whose ages range from 18 to 45 years. Three of them were leading criminal activities and looking for places to organize accidents. In addition, the detainees recruited new members for the criminal group.
Police believe the attackers are involved in more than 70 staged accidents in Moscow. In total, more than 100 people participated in the fraudulent venture, for which verification activities are underway.
Six criminal cases have already been started.
