The state subsidizes about half the cost of businesses and citizens to convert vehicles from gasoline to gas (methane). This resolution was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The new procedure implies an increase in subsidy standards in 2022 from the current 24% to 48% of the total cost of work.
These changes were made in one of the annexes to the state program “Energy Development”, which lays down the rules for providing subsidies to citizens, as well as to small and medium-sized companies for the conversion of cars, public transport and municipal equipment to run on natural gas.
An increase in the subsidy will stimulate the transition of vehicles from petrol to methane and support the demand for this type of fuel from companies and citizens. The government program “Energy Development” provides for an increase in the consumption of natural gas as motor fuel to 2.7 billion cubic meters by the end of 2024. The infrastructure must also be developed for this. Therefore, within five years, about 1.3 thousand gas filling stations should be built in Russia.
The document will be published shortly.
