According to the results of the survey, 52% of respondents preferred European used cars and 25% preferred similar new Chinese cars, provided the price is the same. The research was conducted on the Avito Auto site.
In addition, men were found to be more loyal to Chinese brands – 29% of them are willing to consider buying a car from China.
One of the main advantages of Chinese brands is that the respondents budget (57%), availability of spare parts (50%) and a wide range of models (33%). Consumers are concerned about the low quality of assembly (33%) and finishing materials (28%) and low liquidity for follow-up sales (26%).
And of the European cars, Russians especially appreciate reliability (52%) and safety (39%), a wide range of models on the market (30%) and high liquidity (30%).
Among the potential drawbacks of used cars from Europe, Russians mentioned expensive repairs (59%), high costs (37%), and opaque ownership history (30%).
