A new electric car was spotted on the territory of the KAMAZ car plant. Almost certainly before us lies a prototype under the revived Moskvich brand. In fact, a Chinese JAC Sehol E40X, devoid of original decals, was photographed next to the main KAMAZ-54901 tractor, RCI News reports in Telegram. As you know, the new Moskvich will become a close relative of JAC cars.
According to the announced plans, the line will consist of four positions in the first few years. The first model is the S4 crossover in two versions: electric and petrol. The electric version of the S4 is simply the Sehol E40X. The power reserve on one charge is 420 km, the power of the electric motor is 150 hp.
If you read the plan on the slide from left to right, the electric car will be the first to go into production. It will be followed by the redesigned S4 with ICE, as well as the Sehol X6 (Model II), S7 (Model IV), Sehol A5 Liftback (Model III). Production of cars on Kama’s own platform will not start until 2024, according to preliminary information.
Recall that production is organized in the facilities of the former factory of Renault Russia, now the Moscow automobile plant Moskvich. KAMAZ is a technological partner in this project and a link with the company JAC, which cooperates with KAMAZ in the Compass family. By the end of this year, the aim is to release the first 600 Muscovites. The plan for 2023 is 50,000 cars, for 2024 – 100,000.
- Moscow and PJSC KAMAZ plan to invest 5 billion rubles in the development of the Moskvich plant.
- “Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
