The author of the idea of labeling the packaging of drugs that should not be used while driving is the head of the Moscow Traffic Inspectorate, Alexander Bykov. He was supported by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“The Russian Interior Ministry conceptually supports the introduction of special labeling on the packaging of relevant drugs and the establishment of a list of drugs that affect the ability to drive vehicles,” TASS quoted the agency as saying.
A label will be applied to the packaging of those drugs containing alcohol, narcotics and toxic substances that induce a state of intoxication, distract drivers’ attention and delay their response.
By law, motorists are prohibited from driving while intoxicated and regardless of the reason for its occurrence. That is, taking drugs with drugs that are prohibited for the driver does not absolve him of his responsibility. This threatens to disqualify.
Sometimes drivers take drugs without knowing they contain alcohol, narcotics and toxic substances. This information is in the description of drugs, but few people study contraindications. In the meantime, you could lose your driver’s license, even from cough medications or headaches.
That is why Alexander Bykov proposed to the Ministry of Health to establish a register of drugs under the influence of which it is impossible to drive a car. And put the correct labeling on the packaging.
