In August 2022, at the request of the capital’s Deptrans, the Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee of the North-East Region of Moscow checked the Wezzu electric scooter rental service in Moscow. According to the publication, Wezzu has not signed an agreement with the Traffic Management Center (TsODD) for the use of the urban bike park. Also, the company has no age restrictions and even a child can rent scooters, while other operators have an age limit of 18.

In addition, Deptrans claims that the devices used by the company are not checked for security. Most electric scooters do not have front shock absorption, brakes, headlights, horn and automatic deceleration devices are faulty. Also, Wezzu scooters are not integrated into single “slow zones”.

Meanwhile, according to Kommersant, the Wezzu app shows “slow” zones and shows the speed limit up to 15 km/h in parks.

Wezzu General Manager Dmitry Yankevich told the publication that as a result of the inspection, no violations were found. According to him, the speed of all scooters in Wezzu is limited to 15 km / h, and the rental contract has an age limit of 18.
