On August 1, AvtoVAZ returned the ERA-GLONASS system to the model year 2022 Lada Granta and Niva Legend versions, which were temporarily not installed due to a component shortage. So far, the device is only activated mechanically – in the event of a traffic incident, you can only call the dispatch service by manually pressing a button in the ceiling unit. The automatic mode is not available.
Mobile channels are used for the call and the operation takes place even when the main power of the car is turned off.
AvtoVAZ emphasizes that due to the fact that the safety of the car is very important, they have tried to return the system as soon as possible.
Dmitry Kostromin, vice president of sales and marketing of JSC AVTOVAZ, noted that functions that were previously unavailable are gradually being returned to cars. The company makes every effort to achieve this.
