Across the entire toll road network, which is managed by the state-owned company, traffic congestion is forecast to increase by at least 10% in August, according to Avtodor. In July, the intensity of passenger car traffic has already increased to 40% compared to June.
Experts expect motorists to make more than 30 million passes through toll plazas (TOCs) and the “free flow” framework in August.
Highway traffic peaks on Saturday 13 and 20 August. This is explained by the fact that on the second and third Saturday of August, a large flow of cars goes to Moscow, many return from vacation, and at the same time they go south, on vacation. Therefore, when going on vacation, it is better to choose to leave Moscow, for example, on Sunday or Monday.
In addition to the increase in traffic congestion, the number of accidents is also increasing. The state-owned company Avtodor asks motorists to be extremely careful, follow the traffic rules and not get behind the wheel tired and drunk.
Every accident slows down the flow of traffic, time is lost not only by the participants in the accident, but also by the surrounding motorists.
Avtodor informs that the main road to the south, M-4 Don, is under active construction. Next year, traffic will be opened along the Rostov-on-Don bypass (the construction address is “Aksai bypass”).
