British startup Arrival has suspended development of an electric car and an electric bus. informs financial times.

Denis Sverdlov, 43-year-old former Deputy Minister of Communications of Russia, the founder of Varish – moved to London in 2016. In July, the firm announced plans to phase out electric vehicle and electric bus development and cut its workforce by a third to save money and focus on building its first electric van. As a result of this decision, 800 Arrivals employees will be unemployed.

To date, the company has received 20,000 orders for UPS vans. Car deliveries to customers should begin in the III quarter of this year.

Previously reportedThe company said that AvtoVAZ plans to launch an electric Lada model called the e-Largus. Details of the project were not disclosed by the company.
