The Chinese company Hongqi, which produces vehicles for the Chinese government, is entering the minibus market: the new HQ9 model was seen without camouflage.
Hongqi HQ9 has the same design as other models of the brand. This is a massive grille with vertical chrome plates and a “red flag” on a narrow vertical logo.
Seen from the side you can see a straight roofline (practical!), chrome trim around the windows and massive pillars.
Behind it you see a spoiler with a third brake light, a huge loading opening and vertical lights that are connected by an LED strip.
The interior of the HQ9 features a digital instrument panel and a large screen infotainment system, a small gear lever on the center console and a recess for charging a cordless phone.
In the second row, the individual seats are upholstered in dark red leather and feature many customizations, including extendable footrests.
Hongqi HQ9 will be equipped with a 2-litre four-cylinder turbo engine with 252 hp. A variant with a hybrid power plant is also possible, but nothing is known about this yet.
This car will seriously compete with Kia Carnival, Toyota Alphard and even Aurus Arsenal.
