In the first half of 2022, the number of accidents committed by drivers of the age prohibited to drive (from 10 to 16 years) increased by 16.5% in Russia, RIA Novosti reports citing the Road Safety Research Center of Russia. the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The statistics are compared with the same period of 2021.
In addition, eight accidents involving drivers under the age of 10 took place in Russia in six months, in which 10 people were injured. Adolescents aged 10 to 14 had accidents 124 times, killing two people.
Most accidents during the reporting period were committed by drivers aged 30 to 40: 27.6% or 12,956 in the first half of the year. Such accidents killed 1.3 thousand people and injured 17 thousand.
The number of accidents increased (by 3.3%) at the hands of novice drivers, with a driving experience of 2 to 5 years. Also, 16.9% more accidents started to happen to drivers aged 25 to 30 years.
