Crossover bikes have a shorter lifespan
The resource of crossover engines is really lower than comparable units in passenger cars. In the city, the driver must constantly accelerate and brake a much greater mass. At the same time, in any crossover driving mode, the whole transmission rotates constantly, and it is impossible to turn off the “extra” wheels on the pavement.
All this comes back to haunt the extra energy consumption: rotating bodies have, in addition to mass, a moment of inertia that must be overcome.
And unimportant aerodynamics affect the track – it’s about the same as that of a matchbox. At the same time, a large cross-sectional body is also higher from the road surface, increasing energy loss to harmful vortices below the ground.
It’s quite hard on the bike when off-road performance is delivered on a crossover. The load is high and the speed of movement and consequently the airflow from the radiator and motor is small or absent.

But ideally, clean air was only on Earth in the distant Miocene epoch – now it’s unimaginable without dust and other debris. And a modern combustion engine is extremely sensitive to this dust, which can scratch the cylinder-piston group. Therefore, the air for the combustion engine passes through air filters, the quality of which directly affects the service life of the engine.
How to save without damage?
This is perhaps the most important task facing the car owner today when repairing and maintaining the car. The most suitable consumables for a crossover are, of course, original parts. However, their cost causes the desire to find more modest price tags, and no one can guarantee their originality under the terms of sanctions.
