Kaliningrad Avtotor promises to launch seven new factories by 2023. Such plans were announced last year and the factory is not abandoning them even during the period of severe sanctions.

And also – inverters, subframes, wiring harnesses, ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, plastic products, bumpers, seats. Until now, practically nothing is known about Kaliningrad’s electric vehicles. The head of Avtotor, Valery Gorbunov, hinted that they would have a borrowed platform, but already located in Russia. Currently, in principle no electric cars are produced in our country. It can be assumed that the E‑GMP architecture of the Hyundai group is meant. He had plans to bring electric models Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 to our market, and Koreans used to localize all their cars in Russia. But even if the guess is correct, it’s unlikely to be announced openly.

As for the price, Valery Gorbunov promised the car “cheaper than Tesla”. Given that American electric cars at a price deserve premium status, it would be hard to make more expensive.

Moscow


At the ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement between the government of Moscow and KAMAZ, they unexpectedly showed an “exemplary model range”. In five cars, JAC models were easy to guess: crossovers JS4, S7 (sold in Russia) and Sehol X6, as well as Sehol A5 Plus (the successor to the well-known J7 liftback).

The photos were circulated on the Internet and a day later KAMAZ stated that the images were taken as examples and had nothing to do with real plans. A few days earlier, the factory was subject to blocking sanctions as a military supplier. Under such circumstances, the explicit PR of the project is not good for the Chinese.

Be that as it may, the city council has already promised to pick up 600 Muscovites by the end of the year, 200 of which will be electric.

Evolve

Evolute electric cars should be put on the conveyor belt in the Lipetsk region in September.

The factory has been here before. On it, for example, Changan crossovers were not assembled for a long time, but the site has been without work for several years.

The owner of the factory, the company Motorinvest, promises to invest in 11 years 13 billion rubles and will produce a quarter of a million cars.

During the fall, the line will already have three models and a total of five will be located (three crossovers, a sedan and a minivan).

Dongfeng and Seres electric vehicles are produced under the Russian brand Evolute. The originals of the first three models are shown in the photos along with the main features. Two others are Evolute i‑JET and i‑FREE.

Only three of their passenger models are now produced in Russia: the Grant, the classic Niva and the Patriot. Against this background, it is hard to believe that at least some of what was planned is being carried out within the deadline. But if we can jump over the abyss, that’s a great victory.
