Self-rating of the worst cars was the Canadian edition of HotCars.

The rating was based on criteria that really can not be attributed to the strengths of the Soviet automotive industry – comfort, safety and ease of operation. The authors of the article call cars “death traps”. However, it is recognized that, despite the shortcomings, some of them have become truly legendary.

VAZ-1111 Okay

The first in the anti-classification was the car VAZ-1111.

Oka was developed by the Volga Automobile Plant and has been produced since 1987.

The publication states that there was no way the body of this car could remain intact from one, even a faint blow. They also conclude that this car clearly demonstrated the lack of resources in the country.

ZMS S-1L

Next on the list is the ZMS S-1L, the Soviet “invalid”.

HotCars criticizes the three-wheel sidecar for its “disgusting design” and likens it to a bathtub.

LuAZ-969

The Soviet SUV LuAZ-969 also received some of the criticism. It was called “slow, difficult to manage and insecure”. As proof they even mentioned the number of fatal accidents on this car. According to the publication, 60 have been registered.

ZAZ-965

Next on the list – soviet minicar ZAZ-965 Zaporozhet. The materials used to build it are criticized. The biggest drawback is poor engine cooling. In addition, the machine itself could not develop high speed. However, the publication admits that the car was in high demand.

ZAZ-1102

Last on the list is the ZAZ-1102 Tavria. Here the publication mentions one of the positive aspects of the machine. This is an engine with about 51 horsepower – better than its predecessors. But based on this, based on what has been written, the positives end. According to Canadians, the interior of the car leaves much to be desired, as does the safety.

The next page lists three Soviet cars that were awarded the title of best by the Canadians. Guess?
