Places of illegal production and storage of raw materials, packaging and counterfeit products were located in rented premises in Moscow and the regions. Motor oils were sold under the brand names of well-known world manufacturers in different regions of the country, according to MVD.Media.
Law enforcement officers have identified two suspects: the head of production and the distributor of goods. Searches were carried out in the residences of fraudsters, in shops and warehouses. Production lines for bottling fake oil and labelling, more than 34 tons of finished products and 12,000 five-litre plastic jerry cans were discovered.
Caps, labels, holographic decals of motor oil manufacturers, raw materials, documents and concept notes were seized.
As a result of an express analysis carried out by the official trademark representative, the seized products have been found to be counterfeit.
According to preliminary estimates, the rights holders suffered damages of more than 50 million rubles.
