Vacuum cleaner manufacturer Sharp to produce cars

Electronics manufacturer Sharp will launch the LDK+ car. A prototype of the model was shown at an exhibition in Tokyo. About reports motor1.com.

The car is an electric minivan measuring 5000 mm in length. Solar panels are installed on the roof of the van and an additional battery can provide electricity to external devices and even homes.

Inside, there is a 65-inch TV, tables and a movable sofa. The prototype has no steering wheel or pedals, meaning the car will most likely be equipped with an autopilot.

According to Sharp representatives, the company’s goal is to start selling electric vehicles by 2030.

The Sharp Company was founded in 1912. It now manufactures household appliances, including televisions, tape recorders, washing machines and vacuum cleaners.

The car now features black body decorative elements and black rims. The package also includes a panoramic roof with sunroof, atmospheric interior lighting, air ionization and aromatization function, electrochromic rear-view mirrors, 10 airbags and a 12-speaker audio system.

The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter TGDI gasoline turbo engine producing 150 horsepower (275 Nm), paired with a seven-speed DCT “robot”.
