The compact crossover Kia Seltos, which has been in production since 2019, has undergone modernization – the first updated version of the popular model was received by the South Korean market (sales began on July 22).
The exterior was refreshed with “little blood” – the style of the headlights and lamps, bumpers and tailgate were changed. The radiator grille was enlarged, segments of daytime running lights were placed in it.
Inside is a digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, it is made in one piece with a media system screen (also 10.25 inches). A rotary switch is used instead of the traditional automatic transmission selector switch. Microclimate control has become more ergonomic.
Upgraded Kia Seltos
In terms of technology, the changes are as follows: the 1.6-liter T-GDI petrol turbo engine, which was offered for the model, also in Russia, now develops 198 hp. instead of the previous 177 hp The transmission has been changed – the unit works in conjunction with an 8-speed hydromechanical “automatic” instead of a 7-speed preselective “robot” DCT. The torque of the engine remained the same – 265 Nm.
In Korea, they also first started selling Seltos with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated 149 horsepower petrol engine. (in Russia it is known since the appearance of Seltos). The engine is combined with a stepless variator.
The drive of the crossover is still front or full (at the buyer’s choice).
An improved crossover in Korea will cost 20,620,000-26,850,000 won depending on the modification (=888,000-1,156,000 rubles).
Recall that Kia Seltos was produced for Russia at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, but due to the tightening of anti-Russian sanctions, the company has been shut down since early May. It is impossible to predict the timing of the appearance of the updated Seltos on the Russian market in the current situation.
