Many of us note that in recent years there has been a marked decrease in all kinds of setups and wiring with the participation of traffic police inspectors. And indeed it is. Now is the holiday season, which means that there is a mass pilgrimage to the southern resorts of the country. Anyway, anything can happen. It is better to be prepared and not to get into trouble than to hope that the trouble will pass you by.

If you find yourself in the situation described in this publication, please contact the Department of the Interior hotline at toll-free: 8-800-222-74-47. Tell the hotline operator the time, place, and other circumstances of the incident. The traffic police successfully combat unfair practices by inspectors.

Tip 1. Do not drink kvass from a barrel

The closer to the south, the warmer. I would like to drink something cool… And suddenly a barrel with a tempting inscription “Cold kvass” stands on the side of the road. The drivers, seduced by this photo, do not suspect that quite a lot of alcohol has been added to the kvass. But the traffic police know about it and are on duty nearby. The same smiling young lady who poured you kvass a minute ago will tell her the number of your car.

Then the inspector stops you and offers to blow into a straw while checking documents. The screen of the breathalyzer shows the exceeding of the permitted alcohol percentage. As a result, you will be fined 30,000 rubles or deprivation of rights from 1.5 to 2 years. Established? All the signs are there, but on the other hand, no one forced them to drink kvass.

How do you not become a victim?

Buy drinks in stores or at gas stations. It is better not to pay attention to questionable vessels of kvass, because in this situation it is impossible to prove your innocence.

Tip 2. Do not disturb in the repair room

Everyone waits a whole year for a holiday and wants to go to sea as soon as possible. And coincidentally, temporary speed limit signs are constantly appearing on the track.

For an experienced driver, everything is immediately clear: a smooth road, clear markings, but you should not rush. The 5 km section “with repair” is better to pass without speeding. And above all without overtaking. Usually it is prohibited in the field of repair work.

If you want to save time and drive faster, have the traffic police inspector stop you after a mile and convincingly prove that the road is still being repaired. For exceeding the speed limit by 60 km/h and up to 80 km/h, you risk a fine of 2,000 to 2,500 rubles or denial of rights for a period of 4 to 6 months. At a speed of 130+, that is, more than 80 km / h, they will be punished with 5,000 rubles or deprived of their rights for six months. In case of repeated violation of the speed limit during the year, there is only one result: deprivation of rights for one year.

The complexity of the situation is that, according to Article 29.5.1 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation, the case about the fact of a violation is judged exactly in the place where this violation was committed. You can submit a request to postpone the hearing of the case in the place of residence, but the chance of a positive response is extremely small. Especially if you live on the other side of the country.

How do you not end up in a similar situation?

Keep to the speed limit and do not overtake where it is prohibited. It just seems impossible to follow a slow truck for 3.5 km on an empty road. Remember that you spend much more time communicating with the inspector. And if you are also deprived of your rights, then the losses are incomparable.

Tip 3: Check outstanding fines

Most car owners tend to pay fines on time. But in some cases, the driver may not even be aware that he has been brought under administrative responsibility. This happens if a person does not live at the registration address where “lucky letters” are sent.

A fine that is not paid on time is a double fine. According to Article 20.25 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, the amount of the new fine will be equal to twice the amount of the unpaid fine. An administrative arrest of up to 15 days or up to 50 hours of compulsory labor may also be imposed.

The court determines where your vehicle stops. The traffic officer has the right to take you to the regional police station and then to the court. No one will consider the fact that you have a family in your car that you took to rest.

What must we do?

If you are going on a long trip, make sure you are not in debt for fines. In this case, you will come to the sunny beach quietly and not be in a special detention center in a provincial town.

Have a good rest!
