The Melitopol plant plans to supply up to 100% of its products to the Russian market. This is what the general manager of the company Yuri Shadrin told RIA Novosti. Previously, the volume of deliveries to Russia was not more than 30%.
Now the factory is increasing the production of spare parts. They have been the most important product in the company’s history. But two years before the start of the special operation, they launched the production of mortars on behalf of Ukraine. This work has now been discontinued.
The equipment on which the weapons were made is still on the site. The head of the company said it would not be useful in the production of spare parts. Therefore, they plan to sell it in the near future.
To sell peaceful products, the factory has to look for new markets. Western countries with which contracts were previously concluded are now closed for deliveries. Therefore, the company hopes to cooperate with Russia and Belarus.
Melitopol Automotive Spare Parts Plant is one of the largest foundries in the southern region of Ukraine. The main activities of the company: cast iron castings and mechanical processing of spare parts for automotive and agricultural machinery.
