“The contract on the extension of MTPL to Belarus will be signed at the request of the policyholder, that is, the coverage of Belarus will not be included in all MTPL contracts by default,” Ufimtsev said.

The changes could come into effect as early as October 1 this year. According to Mishustin, drivers would then not have to pay for additional insurance.
