A high oil level in a car engine is as dangerous as a low level and can indicate various malfunctions of the car. In this regard reports “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” cites Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international network of franchised car service centers Fit Service.
“Fuel can mix with engine oil. This is possible in diesel engines and direct-injection gasoline engines. This happens, for example, when fuel leaks from a faulty fuel pump. The oil becomes diluted and its properties deteriorate. Pressure increases, seals and gaskets may be squeezed out,” the expert said.
Also in winter, when the driver makes a short trip, it is possible that the engine oil level is high. In this case, the injectors supply too much fuel, which partly ends up in the pan and no longer has time to evaporate.
High oil levels can be caused by antifreeze. This is possible due to cracks in the cylinder head. You can find out the problem by the white emulsion on the oil filler plug.
Alexander Goman, previously a specialist of the Fit Service car service network statedEngine overheating occurs for many reasons. The main thing is that low-quality antifreeze was poured in. Or its resource has run out, the fluid change interval has been exceeded. Another reason is that the cooling radiator does not cope, there is some kind of malfunction. Then the antifreeze loses its properties and begins to negatively affect the weakest points in the engine. Most often, valve cover gaskets, crankshaft gaskets, expansion tanks and radiator caps are damaged and leak. If the fluid runs out, there is a danger of the engine boiling.
According to experts, a car radiator needs to be flushed every two to three years. This procedure requires disassembling the front of the car and removing the bumper.
