In order not to damage the car engine, it is necessary to have timely maintenance and change the oil. In this respect report Izvestia cites Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international network of franchise car service centers Fit Service.

“For example, if you forget to change the oil and drive an extra 2-3 thousand km, the probability of problems with the valve group and cylinder head immediately increases. Oil quickly loses its performance properties, which leads to corrosion, poor heat dissipation, increased friction, the appearance of soot and deposits. Ultimately, all this leads to expensive repairs,” Rodionov warned.

He also noted that the use of low-quality technical fluids is another shortcut to power unit failure.

Another rule is to check the fuel system, the serviceability of which directly affects the stable operation of the engine. If the mixture formation occurs incorrectly, the engine will operate at increased loads and its lifespan will decrease.

Previously, Pavel Konstantinov, director of the Lux mechanical repair department of the Avilon automobile group named Signs of a faulty fuel filter.

The main signs of a clogged or faulty fuel filter include difficulties starting, stalling and unstable operation of the engine as a whole. If the filter becomes clogged, insufficient fuel will flow into the engine. Additionally, loss of power and reduced vehicle performance may also occur. The expert noted that the third sign of a faulty filter is overheating of the fuel pump and, as a result, its premature failure.

On average, most automakers recommend changing the fuel filter every 30-50 thousand km. But some models, especially diesel models, may need to be replaced more often – for example, every 15-20 thousand km.

Russians before listed vehicle malfunctions caused by low-quality fuel.
