The Council of the European Union has approved a European Commission project to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from new cars to zero by 2035. About informs TASS referred to the statement of the organization’s press service.

“The Council has agreed to increase its CO2 emission reduction targets to 55% for passenger cars and 50% for trucks by 2030. EU press service, the Council also approved the introduction of a target of 100% reduction of carbon emissions by 2035 for new cars.

Therefore, by 2035, European automakers will have to stop producing cars with conventional internal combustion engines and switch to electric vehicles.
