The cost of construction of the Moscow-Kazan section of the M-12 highway amounted to 910 billion rubles. In this respect reports RIA Novosti refers to the interview of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin to the Vedomosti newspaper.
“This route cost 910 billion rubles. But already during its construction, the budget received income in the form of direct tax revenues in the amount of 350 billion rubles. “In 20 years, thanks to the tax potential developed around M-12, the budget will generate 1.8 trillion rubles of revenue, so the project will fully cover its own costs,” he said.
The length of the M-12 Vostok highway from Moscow – Kazan – Yekaterinburg – Tyumen will be 1980 km. This is one of the main sections of the international route “Russia”. According to current plans, the route will be extended to Yekaterinburg in 2024 and to Tyumen in 2025.
The M-12 section between Moscow and Kazan is 810 km. Its flooring was completed seven months ahead of schedule. Thanks to the new road, the journey by car from the Russian capital to Kazan is expected to take 6.5 hours, not 12.
