Deputies of the LDPR faction, led by party chairman Leonid Slutsky, developed a bill on the complete abolition of the transport tax. In this respect reports TASS with reference to the text of the document.

“Transport tax appears excessive in the system of other taxes and duties of the Russian Federation and requires multiple taxation, including fuel excise taxes. Consumption taxes are included in the cost of fuel used by the vehicle during travel. Therefore, the longer the vehicle travels, the more significant the tax burden becomes,” says the document’s explanatory note.

According to Slutsky, drivers already pay excise tax on fuel and bear the cost of maintaining the car, especially maintenance costs and paying for gasoline. The draft law was sent to the Russian government for comment.

Before that, the State Duma had adopted it in the first reading. invoiceAccordingly, the vehicle owner will be able to delete the registration of the vehicle in case of theft. The bill aims to simplify the rules for vehicle registration. According to the document, if a car has been stolen and is officially wanted, upon application of the owner, the vehicle may be deregistered and therefore, for example, transport tax may not be paid.

Additionally, the bill is designed to allow a car’s registration to be deleted immediately after sale, rather than after 10 days as is currently the case.

Previously reportedThat the State Duma rejected the idea of compensation for damage under compulsory motor liability insurance due to icicles falling on a car.
