Japan’s Ministry of Public Lands, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism may threaten the launch of the Land Cruiser by decertifying some Toyota diesel engines. In this respect reports Nikkei Asia.

Japanese regulators are currently investigating a subsidiary of automaker Toyota Industries for manipulating emissions data. The decision to revoke certificates depends on the seriousness of the crime. In the worst-case scenario, the company will no longer be able to produce some engine models. This puts the launch of the Land Cruiser in jeopardy, despite the recent resumption of shipments of diesel versions of the vehicle.

In January, Toyota Industries was accused of falsifying emissions data for some of its engines. They were used in cars such as the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Hiace.

Previously named Turntables become more expensive over time.
