Remdizel, which produces armored vehicles of the Typhoon and Akhmat families, will also produce light armored vehicles upon the request of foreign customers. In this respect reports TASS refers to the company’s president, Alexander Zakharov.
“We are working on heavier chassis than those we currently mass produce for new combat vehicles and launchers of various promising systems. Additionally, the development of a lighter chassis is also on the agenda. As communication with foreign customers shows, they need lighter cars due to the specifics of the region,” said Alexander Zakharov.
Prior to this, Remdizel JSC had completed the import substitution of the Typhoon-K53949 vehicle. The car was called “Phoenix”. The Typhoon-K53949 armored vehicle has the capacity to carry 10 people, including the crew. The weight of the four-wheel drive vehicle is almost 14 tons. It is capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h. Power reserve is 800-850 km. The hull is capable of protecting crews and troops from armor-piercing bullets and artillery shell fragments.
