The most damaged car part in an accident is the front bumper. This was reported in a study provided by the Alfastrakhovanie company to socialbites.ca.
“The front bumper is most damaged as a result of accidents; in 18.4% of cases. Drivers cause slightly less damage to the rear bumper during an accident; this part was reported in 17.5% of cases. The hood and fenders of a car are much less common; 10% and 8%, respectively,” notes a study by the company that analyzed losses under compulsory motor insurance policies.
Much less often, drivers claim damaged headlights when resolving accidents under compulsory traffic insurance; These account for 6% of cases. In this case, the left front fender of the car is damaged more often than the right. Alfastrakhovanie explains this with the current traffic rules: the car approaching from the right has priority, and violators more often hit the left wing.
In 7% of insured cases, damage was recorded on the right wing, in 8% – on the left.
