State Border Service representative Andrei Demchenko said that there was a queue of 1,300 trucks at the Polish-Ukrainian border. TASS reports this.
“On the morning of February 10, 1,300 trucks were stuck in traffic jams at the Yagodin-Dorogusk, Rava-Russkaya-Khrebene and Shegini-Medyka checkpoints. The longest queues are seen near the Yagodin checkpoint on the Polish side,” Demchenko said.
According to him, it is difficult for both cars and buses to pass through the checkpoint due to the blockade.
Polish carriers set sail on November 6, 2023 to obstruct Automobile checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
The reason for the protests was the loss of competition with Ukrainian carriers, which priced their services much cheaper.
Later it became known that Ukraine plans to file a lawsuit to compensate for the damage caused by the closure of automobile checkpoints on the Polish border due to the strike of Polish carriers.
Before that Polish journalist Marek Serant statedIt is stated that even after the protests organized by transporters end, huge piles of vehicles will remain on the border of Poland and Ukraine. The reporter also pointed out that people’s safety is low in traffic jams on the Polish-Ukrainian border. According to Serant, this situation is completely incompatible with the norms of the 21st century.
Previously reportedIt was stated that Ukraine lost more than 1 billion Euros due to Polish truckers closing the border.
