New traffic lights that warn pedestrians about the appearance of cars on bends are being tested in Moscow. In this respect reports TASS with reference to the Traffic Organization Center (TCOC).

“Previously, while the green light was on for both pedestrians and turning vehicles, the warning was turned on only for drivers. Pedestrians did not know that a car could pass around the bend. The TASS source said that during mixed traffic, pedestrian traffic lights now additionally flash the white silhouette of a car and an exclamation mark.

It was noted that new traffic lights were tested at the intersection of 1st Perov Polya Passage and Zeleny Prospekt, at the intersection of Sergei Eisenstein Street and Prodolny Proezd, on Shirokaya Street and also in Zelenograd.

If the trial is successful, such traffic lights will be installed instead of normal traffic lights. In this case, primarily on emergency sections of roads.
