Nadezhda, the mother of a hockey player from Novouralsk who was injured in the accident in the Sverdlovsk region, told socialbites.ca that her son hit his head but was not seriously injured. According to him, the teenager was sleeping at the time of the accident, so he did not immediately realize what had happened. She noted that one of the hockey team members is currently in intensive care.
“He says the blow hit his head, hit his nose. Seriously, thank God he wasn’t injured, but it was a big shock. Everyone there was in shock. He said he didn’t understand anything because he was asleep. Nadezhda described the coach who died in the accident as “strong” and added that he had been working with the team for a long time.
The father of Evgeniy, a former member of the team, told socialbites.ca that the team was making progress under the leadership of the coach who died in the accident. He said the teacher’s death was a loss for children’s hockey.
“He was an excellent man, the team progressed under his leadership, he promoted Soviet hockey, the men under his leadership played with fire! “This is a big loss for Novy Urals hockey and children’s hockey in general,” he concluded.
