The Russian Presidential Office purchased 105 Lada Vesta cars to be used as official vehicles for official authorities, reports TASS.
These vehicles were competitively purchased by management-affiliated transport businesses at the end of December 2023. A targeted subsidy was allocated for their purchase.
“First of all, vehicles that have reached the end of their service life are subject to replacement, and their further operation entails additional financial costs,” the department said.
Lada cars were purchased as part of a phased effort to replace foreign-made official vehicles with domestically branded cars. The relevant instruction on the priority use of highly localized Russian vehicles to serve federal authorities was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Ministry assured that foreign cars, which were replaced by Lada cars, were sold at auctions by the Presidential Administration.
Previously, one-third of used cars in Russia to sell with twisted mileage.
