The most popular foreign car on the secondary market in Russia last year was the Ford Focus. In this respect reports analytical agency “Avtostat”.
It is stated that Russians bought a total of 119.8 thousand second-hand Ford Focus last year (+15% by 2022). In second place is Kia Rio (110.5 thousand units; +10%), and in third place is Hyundai Solaris (110 thousand units; +7%).
There are two Toyotas in the top 5: Corolla (102.4 thousand units; +22%) and Camry (90.4 thousand units; +18%). All presented second-hand foreign cars showed growth in the market. It is also strongest in the Toyota Corolla (+22%).
Before that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that the Russian automobile market would begin to recover and the sales level could reach 1.3 million units in 2024. The department stated that the sales volume in 2026 will correspond to the average annual sales volume in 2015-2021. The market will gradually grow by 1% per year from 2027. Thus, by 2030 the Russian automobile market will reach the level of 1.8 million cars per year, and by 2035 the sales volume will reach 1.9 million cars per year.
