In January 2024, new passenger vehicle stocks in the warehouses of major dealer holdings reached the highest level since the beginning of 2022. In this respect report Vedomosti, with reference to representatives of car retailers.
In particular, Nikolai Ivanov, director of the sales department of new Rolf cars, told the publication that the company currently has 4.5 thousand cars in its warehouse, while in 2022 and 2023 there will be 4.2 thousand and 4.3 thousand cars, respectively.
According to the senior manager, the overstock is due to Chinese automakers trying to load dealer warehouses to the maximum level by the end of 2023. The stock of such machines reaches two months’ sales volume.
It will take a few months for dealers to sell their excess cars. At the same time, sellers will have to give discounts to buyers.
To Russian market within one year officially 19 new automobile brands emerged from China.
